Luke Van Opstal
born in Tilba, population 100, on Australia's south coast. He studied for four years
at McDonald College, a performing arts high school in Sydney, before leaving at 16
to study in London at the Royal Ballet School. While there he performed as an extra
in Royal Ballet productions. Luke returned to Sydney in 2001, and studied with Christine
Keith at Brent Street School before his call up to the Royal New Zealand Ballet in
September 2002
